Desert Mac - Gears Of War 5

Character Rigging work I did on Mac Desert for the multiplayer modes of Gears of War 5 at The Coalition.

As a small but nice detail, each of the the scarf tassels had to be physically simulated to add a little bit of motion to that area.
Due to his body morphology, drifting away from regular COG's armors, this character required a custom setup to maintain the volumes of his muscles on his shoulders and neck.
The character work is split between Maya for overall setup and Unreal for post-physics animations / dynamics for an in-game target performance of 60 fps.
This result is only possible thanks to the work of incredibly talented team of technicians and artists at The Coalition's studio!

Gears 5 is a 2019 third-person shooter video game developed by The Coalition and published by Xbox Game Studios for Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S. It is the sixth installment of the Gears of War series and the sequel to Gears of War 4. The ultimate edition was released on September 6, 2019, while the standard edition of the game was released worldwide on September 10.
